Synopsis
Set against the majestic mountains of Central Asia, the film - inspired by a true story - features little Arno, who lives in her family with four younger sisters. Arno does everything to be like a boy to please her father and get his love and attention. In the culture of their community, having only daughters is a reason for shame. A delicate and original film which deals with the topics of the patriarchate, gender differences and parental relations.

Biography
Dalmira Tilepbergen was born in 1967 in Kirgizstan. After a degree in Philology in Biškek and a diploma from the Moscow Film School, she made several documentaries in Russia and Kirgizstan. In 2015 her first feature film, Under Heaven, received the special mention for the best first film at the Festival des films du monde in Montreal. She writes poetry and short stories which have been translated all over the world.
