Synopsis
Shimu works in a t-shirt factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She and her colleagues work in gruesome conditions, without any sort of security. The need to assert their rights and enforce the recognition of the active role of women will lead Shimu to become the leader of a trade union movement. The passionate denunciation of work exploitation in the textile industry, inspired by a true story.

Biography
Rubaiyat Hossain was born in Bangladesh in 1981. She studied cinema at the Tisch School of Arts of New York University. She lives and works in Dhaka. Her second feature film, Under Construction, was selected to premiere at the 2017 Festival of Locarno in 2017. Made in Bangladesh, her third feature film, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019.
