Synopsis
At four years old, Sujo loses his father, a greatly feared hired killer of a Mexican cartel in the State of Michoacan. He survives thanks to his aunts, Nemesia and Rosalia, who bring him up in the isolated countryside, amid difficulties, poverty and the constant danger associated with his identity. As a young adult, he realizes that the fate of his father could be ineluctable and tried to flee from it, trying to build up his life in Mexico City.

Mexican writers, directors and producers, Astrid Rondero and Fernanda Valadez have collaborated for 15 years, producing the short films Of This World (2010), In Still Waters (2011) and 400 bags (2014) and the feature films The Darkest Days of Us (2017) and Identifying Features (2020), which received awards for the best film at the Sundance, San Sebastian, Zurich, and Thessaloniki Film Festivals and the Gotham Award for Best International Film.
