Synopsis
A young woman returns to her village to escape from a violent husband and seek refuge and emotional support in her own family, but she comes up against their rejection and the social laws that require her to conform to the duties of a good wife.

Biography
Myriam Umiragiye Birara is a Rwandan director. She was born in 1992. She started her film career in 2010 when she was still at school but then she took a degree in finance. She returned to the cinema, making a number of short films: Home, her latest film had its premiere at the Locarno Festival in 2021. She has taken part in several workshops on directing and writing and in 2017 won the Maisha Film Lab Competition for the best screenplay.
