Biography
Nathan De Pas Habib was born in Milan in 1995 to a Jewish family. In 2018 he directed Cheese!, a self-produced documentary film about a trip to Rome by a Milanese psychiatric community and which had its premiere at Cinema Mexico in Milan in 2022. In 2022 he released his first short film The Bicycle, produced by Indiana Production and Basement Hq. The film had its International Premiere at the International Film Festival of Kerala in August of that year. Translating the strong connection to an ancient tradition into contemporary sounds and images of the diaspora is the constant quest of his cinematography. This research work has brought him into contact with African American artist Chino Amobi. In 2022 he directed the short film Eroica, based on Chino Amobi's novel of the same name and starring Amobi himself. From this research, combined with his passion and focus on music, De Pas Habib came into contact with Nigerian Canadian artist Debby Friday. In the summer of 2022 he flew to Canada to shoot, as director, the short film for Debby Friday's debut album.
