Synopsis
Fouad, an illegal Moroccan immigrant who has been living in Italy for years, and Daniela, a former drug-addict from Apulia’s upper class, meet by chance in Umbria. This is the beginning of a love story that helps them heal. But Fouad’s feeling of not belonging and the interminable wait for a visa are pushing him to the brink: should he stay in Umbria or go back to Casablanca, even if it means never to return?

Biography
Adriano Valerio is an Italian director living in Paris for over 20 years. His short film 37°4 S received a Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 and won the David di Donatello in 2014. His debut feature Banat – The Journey was presented at the Venice International Critics' Week of Venice in 2015 and was nominated for the David di Donatello and the Golden Globes for Best Debut Film and has been selected in more than 70 international festivals, receiving various awards including the Corso Salani Award. In 2017, his short film Mon Amour, Mon Ami was presented at the Venice International Film Festival in the Orizzonti section, then at the Toronto International Film Festival. His short documentary Les Aigles De Carthage was the opening short film at the International Critics' Week of Venice. His short film The Nightwalk has been awarded with the Prix Canal+ at Clermont-Ferrand Film festival in 2021 and selected for the César Awards in 2022. His last short film Calcutta 8:40AM was presented at Festa del Cinema di Roma - Alice nella Città in 2023 and won the Nastro D’Argento in 2023. Casablanca marks his first feature-length documentary, and Adriano is now developing two feature films, one in Italy and one in France.
