Synopsis
On the death of his father, Eliécer discovers he has a half-sister, Esperanza, who succeeds in turning his life as a solitary man upside-down. Determined not to take on the responsibility for the little girl, Eliécer sets off on a journey in search of the mother who had abandoned her. There is also Toño with them who dreams of becoming a boxing champion. A road movie from the north of Colombia to Bogota, through difficulties and the contradictions of the country, which will allow the three characters to discover themselves and new bonds of affection.

Biography
Joan Gómez Endara is a Colombian director and producer. Between 2008 and 2013, he wrote and directed the short films Asunto de Gallos, official selection at the Festival of Clermont Ferrand in 2012, and La cartera. After extensive experience as an assistant director in his country, he moved to Barcelona, where he took a post-graduate course in directing at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya. El àrbol rojo received several awards in its final phase, including selection in the section of projects under development of the Festival of San Sebastián and premiered at Tallin Black Nights Film Festival.
