Twist à Bamako
A historical and romantic drama by the master of French cinema who throws an original gaze on Malian society in the 1960s after independence, the vibrant culture of twist dance and the pan-African socialist utopia. Samba travels throughout Mali with the aim of convincing the people to embrace socialism. When he meets Lara, a girl in a village, it is love at first sight but the young woman has been forced to marry against her will. Their love is threatened and with it, the future of the country as well.
