The “Windows on the World” Feature Film Competition Jury awards the Comune di Milano “Windows on the World” Prize to the Best Feature Film.

The Jury composed of 3 Italian journalists awards the Prizes to the Best African Short Film and the Best Film from the Extr’A Competition.

The prize, which consists in the acquisition of distribution rights in Italy, is awarded to an African short film with educational value.

ACEC (Associazione Cattolica Esercenti Cinema) Award

The prize, which consists in the acquisition of distribution rights in Italy, is awarded to a feature film in competition by a jury nominated by ACEC.

ACEC Milano, the Catholic Association of Cinema Operators, is a free trade association that, without profit, represents, promotes and protects the over 100 community cinemas associated with it present in its territory. They are multifunctional places, used as cinemas and theaters, conference venues, and have always been cultural centers in their territories.

The prize consists of the acquisition of tv home-video rights in Italy for an African short film.

“Windows on the World” Feature Film Competition Jury

Paolo Moretti
PRESIDENT

Paolo Moretti has worked for several festivals and film institutions, including Centre Pompidou, Filmoteca Española, Cinemateca Portuguesa, Leeds FF and Cinéma du Réel. From 2008 to 2011 he was assistant director and consultant for the programme of the Venice Film Festival. He then worked as a programmer for FID Marseille, Visions du Réel, the Rome Film Festival and for 6 years he directed the Festival of La Roche-sur-Yon and the arthouse cinema, Le Concorde. Between 2018 and 2022, he was general delegate and artistic director of the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. He is currently the director of the film department of the ECAL in Lausanne, the Grütli arthouse cinema in Geneva and is in charge of the film programme at the Fondazione Prada.

Saeed Roustaee

He was born in Iran in 1989. After graduating in directing from Soore University, he made his first short films. With his debut feature, Life and a Day (2016), he won the prize for the best directing and screenplay at the Fajr IFF and was awarded other international distinctions. In 2019 Just 6.5 had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, in the Orizzonti section, and was nominated for a César as the best foreign film. Leila's Brothers was in competition in Cannes Film Festival in 2022.

Erige Sehiri

She is a French-Tunisian director and producer, former journalist. Her first feature-length documentary, Railway men, won a prize at Visions du réel and was selected for the IDFA in 2018. She subsequently founded her own production company, with which she made her debut feature film, Under the Fig Trees, which won a prize at Final Cut in Venice 2021 and then had its world premiere at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes 2022 and was screened at many international festivals.

Raffaella Giancristofaro
PRESIDENT

She’s a journalist and film critic, graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in History of the Cinema and Film Criticism with a thesis on Jane Campion. A member of the Italian Society of Film Critics since 2004, she has written for Duel, Itinerari Mediali, Dvd Cult, Ciak, and Film Tv, Rolling Stone. She edited the book Mille volte Australia. Cento anni di cinema australiano (Edicta, 2001). Since 2018, she has been a member of the selection committee of documentaries for the David di Donatello awards. She writes for mmovies.it and duels.it.

Ilaria Feole

She was born in Milan in 1983. She writes about cinema and series for the weekly Film Tv and is a member of the selection committee of the Settimana internazionale della critica of the Venice Film Festival. She is the author of the monographs Wes Anderson - Genitori, figli e altri animali (Bietti, 2014) and C'era una volta in America di Sergio Leone (Gremese, 2018) and is one of the authors of Tutto Fellini (Gremese, 2019) and Architetture del desiderio - Il cinema di Céline Sciamma (Asterisco, 2021).

Gian Luca Pisacane

He's a journalist and film critic: he writes for La Rivista del Cinematografo and Cinematografo.it, Famiglia Cristiana and 8 1/2, with a weekly programme on the cinema on Radio Marconi. He has been the film critic of the film clubs at the Nuovo Aquilone Cinema e Teatro in Lecco since 2021. He has collaborated with the Lecco FF and with Castiglione Cinema – RdC Incontra since the first edition. In 2017 he won the Libertà prize awarded by Liberteam, during the first edition of the CAT Prize. He is tutor of the Master in Management of the Image Cinema and Audiovisual at the Catholic University, Milan.
