This non-competitive section includes the runaway hits of the Festival, Italian premieres of affirmed directors, critically acclaimed or major films from the most important international film festivals: the best of contemporary arthouse films from Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Sections
Entirely devoted to Africa, this historic section competes in short films created by cinematographers from the entire African continent and the diaspora. This section aims at promoting fledgling and young rookie directors, paying close attention to innovations and new expressive languages. The films in these sections compete for the “Best African Short Film” award.
The Mexican director, one of the leading figures of the new generation, will attend the festival’s opening with his latest film, La cocina.
In collaboration with Fondazione Prada, this tribute presents his complete body of work, which includes three other feature films: his acclaimed debut Güeros, winner of over 40 international awards, including the Best First Feature Award at the 2014 Berlinale; Museo, a wild heist film set in Mexico City, which won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2018 Berlinale; and Una película de policías (Cop Movie), winner of the Best Editing Award at the 2021 Berlinale.
Special pre-Opening Event in collaboration with Eni. "A Corporate Documentary: Oduroh. Eni, Cinema, and Africa" will feature a screening of the film Oduroh by Gilbert Bovay (Italy, 1964, 38’). The event will include contributions from Lucia Nardi, Head of Corporate Culture and Historical Archive at Eni, and Prof. Giulio Latini, Professor of Multimedia Communication at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Followed by the screening of Searching for Amani by Debra Aroko and Nicole Gormley. After the movie Q&A with director Debra Aroko. Invitation-only event.
