Synopsis
A new action-packed short film straight from the palms of a Nigerian mother who on one fateful night, serves her son a set of slaps so powerful that it changes his life forever. Full of twists and turns, this film celebrates the most neglected (heroes of today "Black Mums") and reflects on communication between the generations and cultural stereotypes.

Biography
Abdou Cissé is a writer, director and creative from South London. His directorial debut, Serious Tingz, won Best Narrative Short at the 2019 Shiny Awards and was nominated for a BIFA. Serious Tingz went on to be selected by many film festivals, featuring on ITV news, Tate Modern & Britain; as well as the National Prison Radio. This amassed publicity enabled Serious Tingz to reach over 90,000 prisoners across the UK. He also built a successful career creating award winning campaigns for brands such as Apple, Nike, and Google. Building upon the success of his 2024 BAFTA nominated & BIFA award winning short, Festival of slaps, Abdou made his TV directorial debut as the lead director for the BBC series, Grime kids, written by Theresa Ikoko.
